Where every Child’s voice becomes a story
We offer two exciting ways for children to take part in LAMDA training.
Our LAMDA lessons are 30-minute, one-to-one sessions that take place weekly during the school day, giving children focused, consistent support as they build confidence and communication skills over time. Exams are taken twice per year, allowing steady progress and a real sense of achievement. For those who prefer a more immersive experience, our LAMDA courses offer an intensive one-week programme packed with performance practice and personal coaching, leading to an exam at the end of the week. Both options help children find their voice, develop self-belief, and gain recognised qualifications in speech and drama

01. Welcome Pack
Our digital welcome pack tells you all you need to know about the benefits of LAMDA, the structure of our programmes, how to navigate our community platform and what your child's LAMDA journey will look like from start to finish.
02. Community Access
On signing up to our 1:1 classes, you will be assigned a spot on our LAMDA community platform. This allows you to discuss with other members of the community, chat with teaching staff, gain updates on exams and access a full library of materials.
03. One to One Coaching
In our individual classes and our intensive workshops, students get special 1:1 tutor time to fully prepare them for the exam material and content. Our teaching staff will identify strengths and areas to improve and work intently to help your child get the best from their experience.
04. Certificates on completion
All LAMDA exams are certified and recognised world wide. Certificates are personally handed to students, 6 weeks after the examination or posted by special delivery to ensure you can keep your achievements safe.

FAQs
How do I sign up?
You can book both services via the buttons on this page. School classes need to be approved by senior staff.
How much does it cost?
Lessons can be vary from £20-25 per 30 minute session depending on your location and school. Lessons are booked a term in advance. We work in line with existing peripatetic music lessons at your school and suggested rates with LAMDA. Courses are £250 per course.
How long does it take for my child to prepare for an exam?
This all depends on the development, progress and commitment of each student. We strongly encourage at least one exam session per year but most venues we run in have a minimum of two exam sessions during the school year. We work very hard to prepare students for exams but the learning of lines and confidence with the script is also representative of the additional practice outside of the class. The required guided learning hours are 10-20 for most grades but much more for Grades 6-8. Intensive courses are just one week.
Where do exams take place?
Lemon Jelly is a registered exam centre and this means that we can run exams in each of the schools and venues we work in. This provides confidence for pupils and students and is much more convenient for everyone involved. They often take place in your school on a weekday (with the exception of some Saturdays where a weekday is not possible).
Can parents watch lessons & exams?
No, is our short answer. We expect pupils and students to prepare in their classes exactly as they would perform in the exam. We always provide a short piece of feedback in the LAMDA LOG BOOK and we are happy to answer any questions, any time, about your child's progress and preparation in LAMDA. The exams are strictly for candidates only. Even Tutors are not allowed in the exam room.
My child has additional learning needs, can they participate?
Yes! Absolutely. We should always be aware of any additional learning needs at the time of booking and we would ask that this is completed in the "additional information" section when you register with us. We may call you to discuss further. With exams, there may be need for a RA (Reasonable Adjustment). We have attached some information from LAMDA on RA's here
How do I contact my child's tutor?
The best form of communication is via the LAMDA log book. This is viewed by the tutor during every LAMDA lesson and it is essential that your child brings this each week. If you have any specific email requests, you are welcome to contact our office or the community platform chat that you will be directed to when you start lessons. This platform is not for intensive courses as you will see the tutors at the start and end of each day.
What if my child misses a lesson?
If your child is absent from school, on a trip or taking an exam at the time of their scheduled lesson then we will always try our very best to make up the session. If 48hrs notice is given then we will definitely make up for the time missed. It may not be within the same week but it will be made up during the term. Please provide notice by emailing [email protected]
If a student fails to turn up for a lesson, the tutor is not obliged to make up the time that has been inconveniently missed. Tutors will always attempt to find a student if they do not arrive for their scheduled lesson.
